Loathe Mega Owen R. SmithCorp is proud to announce the release of local author Owen R. Smith’s first book with a celebration at The Virtuoso Studios in Northwest Portland on March 20. The book, Water and Bridges, is 122 pages of poetry and heartfelt, honest short fiction. A longtime writer, the book is Smith’s first published foray into the world of fiction. The event begins at 7 p.m. and will feature short readings by the author. Smith, 25, is an author, poet and sportswriter for a daily newspaper. He grew up in Massachusetts and Portland, Ore. where he attended Portland State University as an English major. He currently resides in Pendleton, Ore. Special guest Patrick Daly will be reading selections from his second book, Missed Connections: Short Stories and Stuff as well.
